Ramon Moro vive e lavora a Torino, compone musica, suona la tromba e il flicorno. Artista singolare, con un’impronta stilistica tra confine e dualità, si identifica per il suono visionario e immaginifico, dai set in solo con pedaliera di effetti e attorniato di amplificatori, alla purezza del solo strumento acustico.
In questi ultimi venticinque anni ha lavorato in ambito jazz sperimentale, pura improvvisazione, supporto per band rock, preziosi interventi su album di musica leggera e cantautorale. Per la sua predisposizione all’improvvisazione, alla cura del suono e alla sua sensibilità a interagire con altre forme espressive, vanta diverse collaborazioni tra cinema, teatro, danza e arte contemporanea.

Di rilievo gli interventi live sulle opere di Richi Ferrero, gli artisti Botto e Bruno, Masbedo e Alessandro Sciaraffa. Da oltre quindici anni collabora con il chitarrista/compositore Paolo Spaccamonti, oltre ai numerosi concerti in duo, lavorano insieme su sonorizzazioni dal vivo, ultimo lavoro la sonorizzazione del film Vampyr (C.T.Dreyer – 1932), prodotto dal Museo Nazionale del Cinema, che ha visto la partecipazione del batterista Jim White e della violoncellista canadese Julia Kent. Ha composto insieme a Spaccamonti le musiche del film “I Cormorani” del regista Fabio Bobbio.
Con i 3quietmen, power trio attivo dal 99, ha inciso sei album, si è esibito in palchi di rilievo come Festival Jazz di Magdeburgo, RomaJazzFestival, tournèe in Cina. Ha frequentato per due anni il “Laboratorio Permanente di Ricerca Musicale” tenuto dal pianista Stefano Battaglia alla Fondazione Siena Jazz, incidendo con lui due album.

Ha pubblicato quattro album con il suo progetto in solo: il primo nel 2009 “Magma”, un concept sulle eruzioni vulcaniche; con lo pseudonimo daRKRam il lavoro “Stone and Death”, concept dark ambient black metal; “Offering” nel 2020 per l’etichetta indiana Subcontinental Records e ultimo nel 2022, l’album “Calima”, pubblicato per l’etichetta DIO DRONE, inserendo anche la sua voce con le tecniche di vocalità estrema.
Ha pubblicato per l’etichetta berlinese Aut Records, l’album “Blue Horizon” con il suo nuovo Ramon Moro Quartet, con Maniscalco, Federico Marchesano e Zeno De Rossi.

Nel 2023 ha fatto parte della band dello spettacolo “Lazarus”, musical di David Bowie e Enda Walsh, nella versione italiana, con la regia di Valter Malosti, produzione ERT – Emilia Romagna Teatro, con l’ attore/cantante protagonista Manuel Agnelli, con la cantante Casadilego, la coreografa Michela Lucenti e l’attore Dario Battaglia.

Ramon Moro lives and works in Turin, Italy, composes music and plays trumpet and flugelhorn. A singular artist with a stylistic footprint between boundary and duality, he is identified by his visionary and imaginative sound, from solo sets with effects pedalboard and surrounded by amplifiers, to the purity of the acoustic instrument alone.

Over the past twenty-five years, he has worked in experimental jazz, pure improvisation, support for rock bands, and valuable interventions on pop and singer-songwriter albums. Because of his aptitude for improvisation, care for sound and his sensitivity to interact with other forms of expression, he boasts several collaborations between cinema, theater, dance and contemporary art.

Of note are the live interventions on works by Richi Ferrero, artists Botto and Bruno, Masbedo and Alessandro Sciaraffa. For more than fifteen years he has been collaborating with guitarist/composer Paolo Spaccamonti, in addition to numerous duo concerts, they work together on live soundtracks, most recently the soundtrack for the film Vampyr (C.T.Dreyer – 1932), produced by the National Cinema Museum, which featured drummer Jim White and Canadian cellist Julia Kent. He composed together with Spaccamonti the music for the film “I Cormorani” by director Fabio Bobbio.

With the 3quietmen, a power trio active since 99, he has recorded six albums, performed on such prominent stages as Magdeburg Jazz Festival, RomaJazzFestival, toured China. He attended the “Permanent Laboratory of Musical Research” held by pianist Stefano Battaglia at the Siena Jazz Foundation for two years, recording two albums with him.

He has released four albums with his solo project: the first in 2009, “Magma,” a concept about volcanic eruptions; under the pseudonym daRKRam the work “Stone and Death,” a dark ambient black metal concept; “Offering” in 2020 for the Indian label Subcontinental Records; and last in 2022, the album “Calima,” released for the DIO DRONE label, also incorporating his voice with extreme vocal techniques.

He released for the Berlin label Aut Records, the album “Blue Horizon” with his new Ramon Moro Quartet, featuring Maniscalco, Federico Marchesano and Zeno De Rossi.

In 2023, he was part of the band in the show “Lazarus,” a musical by David Bowie and Enda Walsh, in the Italian version, directed by Valter Malosti, an ERT – Emilia Romagna Teatro production, with lead actor/singer Manuel Agnelli, with singer Casadilego, choreographer Michela Lucenti and actor Dario Battaglia.
